Internal Communication

Internal communication is a priority for CTR.  We make use of various mediums, a flexible integrated computerized system, daily meetings, onsite inductions / training, etc.

Trucks are maintained according to a preplanned service schedule.  The workshop is fitted with drive through bays, pits and roofed wash bays with oil traps. Services are done onsite.  We have 24 hour maintenance assistance on standby to attend to any breakdowns.

Safety awareness plays a vital role in our daily operations. A ten minute safety talk is to be done by the controller with each driver and a Green area meeting is to take place in the workshop prior to commencing a shift. A key control system where vehicle keys are monitored, PPE inspections and vehicle pre-checks are done is also monitored by the controller. All vehicles are fitted with tracking devices and panic buttons, also two-way radios and all trucks are governed on 85 km / hr. Trucks are fitted with DriveCam (Cameras) that record all incidents. These clips are send to a server and can be accessed via internet.  A 24 hr control room is based at the depot in Bethal from where all trucks are monitored and any incidents are reported.

All vehicles are FRCP2 compliant a standard requirement of BHP Bulliton.

Feedback from all departments on a regular basis ensures that Operations are managed and monitored effectively. Optimization is a priority that requires dedicated planning throughout the entire company to ensure that all trucks are utilized to its full potential.

We continuously strive to improve the quality of our systems: maintenance, safety, operations and employee relations to add value to the business of our clients, and the overall growth of CTR.

CTR supports Road Transport Management System (RTMS) - a self regulated initiative to promote load optimization, vehicle maintenance and driver wellness in heavy vehicle transport in South Africa.
